Ali Subira Mawazo (see image below) has been named the February Player of the Month for the FKF Nairobi East Branch’s Regional League.
In a fiercely contested voting process conducted on the FKF Nairobi East County Branch Facebook page, Mawazo triumphed over Maxwell Makokha of Kamongo FC, securing 3,200 votes compared to Maxwell’s 2,100 votes. Other notable nominees included Samuel Odhiambo (Uefa Despanol), Ali Abubakar (Soweto All Stars), and Joshua Mwaniki (Babadogo United).
The Player of the Month award was established at the start of the season to honor the top-performing players across all branch leagues. During the announcement, Chairman Dickson Doyo emphasized the branch’s dedication to motivating players and fostering young talent. He assured that athletes at all levels, both men and women, will have equal opportunities to earn this prestigious award.
Voting for the men’s county and sub-county leagues, as well as the women’s regional and county leagues, will begin in the coming weeks.
